First Aid Training for HFR volunteers

We run weekly first aid training sessions on Tuesday evenings at Crondall Old Gymnasium from 8 to 10 pm to keep our skills current and well practised.  These sessions are also open to those we have previously trained, who may wish to update their skills.  If you would like to come along please contact Hester Wain by phone on 01252-629132 or Email admin@hartfirstresponse.org.uk to check that the session is still on, or check the First aid training programme online.

Courses
We currently run a number of courses a year, aimed at helping everyone to learn first aid (see photos).  Anyone can learn first aid,  you do not need to be brainy and you do not need to be super-fit, you just need to want to learn!  We have trained people from seven years old to over eighty and have helped those with wide range of learning needs to gain competence in first aid.  We do not have exams or tests in our courses, but continually assess your progress and help you to achieve the very best that you can.

We provide the following courses, usually based at our training venue (Crondall Old Gymnasium):

  • Adult Emergency Life Support (2 hours)
  • Child and Infant Resuscitation (2 hours)
  • Emergency First Aid at Work (6 hours)
  • Scout/Guide/Cub first aid badges
However, we are also more than happy to tailor a course specifically to your needs, or to come to your venue, please let us know.

Groups Trained
We have provided training for the following groups:

  • Riding for the Disabled
  • Scout and Guide Association
  • Hants and Berks Rover Owners
  • New parents group
  • Aikido club
  • Crondall Entertainers Community Association
What the students said:
“It was great having casualty actors come in.  Everybody was very helpful and explained things clearly.”

“A lively and informative day, many thanks!”

“An excellent day, straightforward, and very well and clearly presented”.

“I am extremely grateful to have been given the instruction (and I hope I don’t have to use it!)”

“Very complete course and good pace, kept us awake!”

We will then confirm in writing if we are able to provide the course.  Our receipt of a booking form does not constitute an agreeement to provide a course.
