Crews of the Future"
With the V Project grant
of £8,616 awarded to HFR in November 2009, we have been able to recruit
and train 14 new young volunteers to First Aid at Work standard.
Plus, 9 volunteers gained places on the First Person On Scence (FPOS) Intermediate
course run by the Essential Training Organsiation.
This grant opportunity has
very much exceeded our expectations and has generated a waiting list of
young first aid volunteers!
are launching our Ambulance Appeal, to raise about £40,000 over the
next two years to purchase at least one new/second-hand Ambulance.
We provide first aid and
ambulance cover to over 70 local events each year, treating in excess of
160 patients. Every event is attended by one of our fully-kitted
ambulances. We use our ambulances to transport the right equipment
to events and provide a safe, warm and private environment in which to
treat our patients.
We need volunteers to help
us raise funds for our Ambulance Appeal. If you can spare some time,
we would like to hear from you. Contact Hester on 07941980914.
Following the PHECT (Pre-Hospital
Emergency Care Technician) course at Nottingham University Hospitals
NHS Trust last year, which included the Immediate Life Support (ILS); 7
volunteers are updating their ILS qualification at the Royal
Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust's SImulation Centre in March 2010.
